What should I pay attention to when customizing the computer operation cabinet?
Dimensions and specifications
Internal space planning:
We should fully consider the size and quantity of computer equipment. For example, for the cabinet where the server is installed, the available space inside the cabinet needs to be determined according to the height of the server (usually in U, 1U = 44.45mm). If you want to install multiple servers, switches, storage devices, etc., it is necessary to accurately calculate their total height and depth, and reserve enough space for equipment installation, wiring and heat dissipation.
It is also necessary to consider the installation space of internal accessories, such as guide rails and trays. For example, in the cabinet where the guide rail is installed, the length of the guide rail should be suitable for the installation of the equipment, and a certain margin should be reserved to facilitate the sliding in and out of the equipment.
External dimension adaptation:
Customized cabinets should be able to adapt to the space constraints of the installation environment. If it is installed in the computer room, the door width and aisle width of the computer room should be considered to ensure that the cabinet can be transported and placed smoothly. For example, the width of the computer room door is only 700mm, so the width of the cabinet can't exceed this value, otherwise it can't be carried into the computer room.
At the same time, the arrangement of cabinets should be considered. If multiple cabinets are placed side by side, the spacing between cabinets should be considered to facilitate the operation and maintenance of equipment. Generally, the spacing between cabinets is not less than 800 mm.
Material and quality
Sheet metal material selection:
Choose materials according to the use environment. If the cabinet is used in ordinary office environment, cold-rolled steel plate is a suitable material, which has good strength and processability. If it is in a humid or corrosive industrial environment, it is best to choose stainless steel plate or cold-rolled steel plate with special antirust treatment, such as galvanized steel plate, to enhance the corrosion resistance of the cabinet.
The thickness of the material is also critical. Generally speaking, the thickness of the frame part of the cabinet can be 1.5-2.5mm, and the thickness of the side plate and door plate can be 1-1.5mm, which can ensure that the cabinet has enough strength to support the weight of the equipment and avoid material waste.
Quality control of accessories:
For cabinet accessories, such as door locks, hinges, handles, etc., we should pay attention to their quality. The door lock should have good anti-theft function, and be durable and not easy to be damaged. For example, choose a mechanical lock or an electronic lock with a high-strength lock core. Hinges should be able to bear the weight of the cupboard door and ensure the smooth opening and closing of the cupboard door. Generally, hinges with thick materials and flexible rotating shafts should be selected.
In addition, the accuracy and stability of accessories such as guide rails in cabinets should be ensured. The bearing capacity of the guide rail should meet the requirements of the equipment, and the equipment should be able to slide in and out smoothly after installation.
Functional design
Heat dissipation design:
Computer equipment will generate a lot of heat during operation, so the heat dissipation function of the cabinet is very important. Cooling fans can be installed at the top and bottom or side of the cabinet. For example, for a server cabinet with high power, it is necessary to calculate the number of fans and ventilation according to the cooling demand of the equipment. Usually, every 1-2U equipment space needs to be equipped with a fan with a certain air volume, for example, every 1U equipment needs to be equipped with 10-15CFM (cubic feet per minute) ventilation.
Ventilation holes or ventilation slots can also be designed, so that cold air can enter from the bottom and hot air can be discharged from the top, forming a good natural ventilation channel. The size and distribution of ventilation holes should be reasonable to avoid local overheating.
Wiring design:
There should be a reasonable wiring system inside the cabinet. Cable management slots can be designed and installed, and cables such as power cables, network cables and optical fibers can be placed in different slots, which is convenient for management and maintenance. For example, a vertical cable management slot is set on one side or the back side of the cabinet, and the cable can be fixed in the slot through a cable tie or clamp.
At the same time, it should be considered to reserve enough cable interfaces and wire holes. The position of the wire-passing hole should be convenient for the lead-in and lead-out of the cable, and appropriate protection should be carried out, such as installing rubber rings to prevent the cable from being scratched.
Appearance and environment
Design:
The appearance of the cabinet should match the use environment. If it is in a modern office, the color of the cabinet can be simple white, black or silver gray, and the design should be simple and generous with smooth lines. If it is in an industrial environment, the requirements for appearance may be relatively low, but the clarity of identification should also be considered, such as marking the equipment name, number and other information in a prominent position on the cabinet surface.
The treatment process of the cabinet surface will also affect the appearance. If electrostatic spraying technology is used, the cabinet surface can be uniform and shiny, and it has certain wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Noise and environmental protection:
Consider the noise generated by the operation of equipment in the cabinet. If the cabinet is placed in an office area, measures should be taken to reduce noise as much as possible. For example, choose a low-noise cooling fan, or soundproof the cabinet, such as installing sound-absorbing materials inside the cabinet to reduce the impact of noise on the surrounding environment.
From the perspective of environmental protection, we should pay attention to whether the cabinet materials meet the environmental protection standards. For example, whether the board contains excessive harmful substances such as formaldehyde, and whether the coating material is environmentally friendly, so as to avoid pollution to indoor air quality.
